Why is Easylawn feed so special?

Most other lawn feeds have either fast acting nitrogen or a mixture of slow and fast acting nitrogen. The fast acting feeds are typical of the type used on golf and bowling greens where a high standard is expected. Easylawn only use the more advanced slow release types. We will not use the fast acting feeds as these are responsible for scorching lawns.

It's also worth remembering that our feeds are slow release giving a consistent feed for approximately 10 weeks. This is almost twice what you will get from most other lawn fertilisers and around three times more than liquid feeds offer.

As the granules are so small, they get to the root zone quickly. Other fertilisers are irregular shaped and around six times larger. These are liable to burn your lawn as they give all their food at once creating a sudden flush of greenery that won't last. We regard our feeds as the finest available.

Easylawn "No Scorch Technology"

We use the very latest fine-turf technology fertilisers. Our fertiliser granules are approximately 1/16th inch in diameter. Each granule of nitrogen is coated with a major plant trace element. However, due to the brittle nature of this trace element it tends to crack and release all the feed at once. Some lawn feeds that claim to be “No-burn Guaranteed” are left this way. Unless they are watered in immediately they are actually prone to burning the lawn. In order to prevent this from happening, we have had our fertiliser coated with a polymer to protect it and also to give a controlled release over ten weeks. All of this happens to a granule that is not much larger than a grain of sugar.

Here is a typical lawn care programme - remember this will be tailored to the needs of your lawn:

Early Spring Treatment - February to April

At this time of year the lawn is beginning a growth cycle following the winter dormancy. Most broadleaf weeds are not yet growing and insects are inactive.

We will visit your lawn, and apply our granular lawn food, thus providing early season nutrients to build a thicker, greener lawn from the roots up. This first application of fertiliser is designed to help the grass begin its growing cycle and to strengthen the grass plants to better cope with the coming summer conditions. The combination of nutrients supplied, Nitrogen (N), Phosphorous (P) and Potassium (K) will provide new greening of the grass and will help sustain it until the next application.

On those lawns where it is appropriate this application will include material to assist in controlling moss or weeds.

Late Spring Treatment  -April to May

Again we will visit, and apply a granular treatment for that greener well-presented lawn. This application provides the proper mix of NPK to the grass plant in order to promote strong leaf growth and overall plant health.

Broadleaf weed control may also be applied at this time to help control weeds that have germinated. Some weeds are persistent and require weed control over several application cycles.

Summer Treatment  - June to September

A further application of our lawn fertilizer containing our slow release granules for a well-fed lawn. This application again provides the proper mix of NPK to the grass plant in order to promote strong leaf growth and overall plant health.

Broadleaf weed control will continue, as needed to help control weeds. Some weeds are persistent and require weed control over several application cycles.

Autumn Treatment - September to November

This is the most important fertiliser application your lawn receives. In Autumn, as the ambient air temperature cools the grass plant stops putting food into leaf growth. However, photosynthesis continues and the food generated by the grass plant goes exclusively to root development and growth. This is a crucial time for root growth and Easylawn will provide the nutrition that is most beneficial to the plant. This application also provides a kick-start for the growth of the plant next spring. This unique formula slowly releases nutrients into the grass plant through the winter, feeding and strengthening roots, maintaining the lawns deep green presentation with moss control if required.

Additional treatments such as Lawn Aeration, Scarification, Top Dressing and pest and weed control can also be carried out if and when required.
