Lawn Analysis
Our Easylawn Turf Supplies technician will complete a FREE detailed analysis of your lawn as follows:
Lawn age
The age of the lawn is a general indicator of lawn conditions, such as thatch and compaction. Normally - the older the lawn is, the greater the thatch levels and soil compaction problems.
Lawn mower type and settings
What type of mower you are using can give us reasons for some of your lawns problems such as moss and damage to the lawn turf grass plant.
Grass species
There are a number of grass varieties commonly found on lawns. These different varieties may require different treatments to create the best possible lawn.
Past feeding programme
This helps us identify why there may be problems with weeds etc. If the lawn has never had weed killer applied, this is an obvious reason why the lawn is infested.
Weed identification and infestation levels
We will identify all weeds such as daisies, dandelions, clover, plantains, etc, as well as the rarer varieties such as lesser trefoils and speedwells. We will also identify the percentage of weed problems your lawn has.
Moss infestation levels
Moss is a particular problem on lawns. Recognising the amount of moss infestation is an important indicator to understanding its cause.
Thatch levels
Thatch is the thin layer of fibrous organic matter that lies between the grass blades and the soil. Specialist scarification equipment is best employed to reduce it.
Soil structure and compaction levels
The soil a lawn is laid on can have a great effect on its appearance. Many lawn problems are a result of problems with a lack of nutrients due to poor soil. We also need to know how compacted the soil is that a lawn is trying to grow on. The more compact the soil, the weaker the lawn and the more likely we are to recommend Hollow-Tine Aeration.
Hollow tine aeration recommendation
Based on a number of conditions we find on the lawn, such as excessive soil compaction, we may recommend hollow-tine aeration
Scarification recommendation
Based on a number of conditions found on the lawn, such as a thick layer of thatch, we may recommend scarification.
Disease and pest analysis
Some discoloured patches and problems on your lawn may be due to a lawn disease such as fusaruim patch. Most diseases are due to poor lawn maintenance and can be easily cured with the correct lawn maintenance programme.
Pests on a lawn can cause a lot of problems. Your lawn might be suffering because you have a problem with worms, leather jackets or chafer grubs. Our Easylawn Turf Supplies technician will identify any diseases or insects that may be present.
Other problematic lawn conditions
There are a number of other reasons why you might be experiencing problems with your lawn. Our technician will identify potential problem areas such as shade, slime mould, and fairy rings.
