Treatment FAQ
When is the best time to start the Easylawn Turf Supplies service?
It is always a good time to start creating a beautiful lawn. You can start to use our service at any time.
When will I notice the difference?
Weeds will start dying in about a week and this will be quite noticeable. The results of the fertiliser treatment begin to show after approximately ten to fourteen days.
Is it safe for my children or pets?
Yes. However we would suggest that you keep your pets off the lawn for a couple of hours after the weed killer has been applied, just to give it time to dry. Pets which graze on the lawn, such as rabbits or guinea pigs, do enjoy eating weeds. In such cases, you could section off an area of lawn for your pets which we will not treat or let us know where they graze and we will avoid it.
Does it really cost less than doing it myself
Lawn treatment costs vary depending on the size of your lawn, but start from as little as £13 per application including all materials, labour and VAT.
What if I already have a gardener?
Hundreds of Easylawn Turf Supplies customers already have a gardener and we are not a gardening company. We are a specialist lawn company, and will enhance the work of your gardener. The superior products we use are not available to gardeners and our service will cost you less.
Are the feeds Easylawn Turf Supplies use better than the proprietary brands I can get from a Garden Centre or wholesaler?
The best proprietary lawn feeds last between is 3 - 6 weeks depending on your soil type. Easylawn Turf Supplies' professional feeds last around 10 weeks.
Is there a contract to sign?
No. We do not ask you to sign a contract, all we ask is that when you settle one bill you inform us if you wish to cancel the next visit.
Do I need to water my lawn after your visit?
No. At times it is impractical and inconvenient to water in the treatment. Of course, the sooner the feed reaches the roots, the sooner its feed will be released. Generally rainfall or morning dew is quite adequate. Our no scorch technology fertiliser, with its special coating means that watering your lawn after a treatment is not necessary. As the granules are only 1/16th inch in diameter, it does not take very much to break them down.
Why do you recommend 4 visits a year?
Most fertiliser products suggest reapplication after five or six weeks, whereas our feed lasts 2-3 months. Therefore when we visit regularly we ensure vital nutrients are being continually released into the lawn throughout the seasons.
Must I mow before a weed treatment?
This very much depends on how many weeds are present as mowing will cut most of the leaves off the weeds. The weed killer we use works from the leaves down to the roots so cutting off the weed leaves may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. It is generally wise to wait approx three days after a treatment before mowing your lawn.
What if my lawn has many weeds?
The more weeds touched by the weed killer, the more will die. So, where possible, don’t mow the lawn for a couple of days before and after the treatment to allow enough time for the weed killer to travel from the leaf to the root of the weed. However, don’t worry too much if this is not possible as the treatment will still be effective.
If it rains after the treatment, will it still work?
Of course! The rain will wash the fertiliser into the soil so is beneficial and our weed killer is shower-proof so need to worry. However, do let us know if after 14 days they are not dying. They should be turning brown and shrivelling.
Are Easylawn Turf Supplies staff qualified and licensed to treat my lawn?
Absolutely. Our staff are qualified to NPTC level as it is illegal for unqualified gardeners to use or apply weed killers in your garden.
Do I have to wait in for you to call?
No. We understand that many of our customers are not going to be in when we call. We do let you know the date of your next treatment a few months in advance, so we simply need to be able to gain access to your lawn.
